Friday was my actual birthday. I received many greetings & good wishes on Facebook, a couple phone calls, a couple emails (thank you Quilly for the email greeting), a few nice cards. I spent the day at home, mostly in bed with my laptop playing games like PathWords & MahJongg. Just felt like being lazy & taking it easy, so why not. I text messaged Wendy & asked if she wanted to go out so we went to the ANAF for the evening. Not the great time we usually have there. I was very low energy & just not my usual peppy self & it was a different clientele than is usually in there, we knew very few of them and there were not many people there. The music was good though, live, and I got to dance a few dances so this was a good thing. I was glad to come home early & go to bed. I hope some of those people were taking taxis or had a sober driver as not even high risk auto insurance would help them when driving drunk. I stick out like a sore thumb with my tea.
Today was a better day again, my energy was up. I went to the Centre for Spiritual living for awhile. Today was our Open House so people could come & take free mini workshops to see what it is we do there. One workshop was Finding Your Inner Voice, a singing workshop. I took that and fully enjoyed it. Afterward, a few of us went to the Lodge for a nice lunch. Linda, Tjana, Bev, a friend of Bev's who's name I can't think of just now, & myself. Linda bought my lunch as a gift to me & they all stood & sang Happy Birthday to me. I felt very special.
When we left there, I went to the dog park with Reba and we had a nice walk. I'll leave the details to her as I know she will want to tell you about it. It felt good. I haven't gone walking for awhile now due to very cold weather and to a lot of ice. With my back I have some fear of falling so avoid the risks as much as possible. Today was a nice day and a good walk.
This evening I watched a movie Dan gave me on DVD. Hidalgo. Being a horse lover I wanted to see this movie. It was pretty good. Not the best ever, but good anyway. Viggo Mortensen is always hot. :o) Then as I was getting ready to come to bed & watch Criminal Minds, the phone rang, it was Roger so I talked to him instead of watching TV. Now, while doing my blogging, I've been emailing back & forth with Mark.

TOPS - B'day - Cell Phone
Thursday I went to my TOPS meeting as usual. This week, unfortunately, I had gained a pound. I must reverse this and not let it become a trend. I gained about 3 pounds since the start of December, so okay it could have been worse & it could have been better, it was Christmas and all the things that go with it over the month. Now is the new year so time to get back at it... once my birthday week is over that is. Yes, birthday week. I believe in celebrating more than a mere day, lol.
Doreen, one of the ladies at TOPS, is a wonderful patchwork quilt maker. Absolute beauty in her creations. This week she said she has a contest for us. The TOPS (Take Off Pounds Sensibly) to loose the most weight by April 1st wins one of her quilts!! The KOPS (Keep Off Pounds Sensibly) members that stay in leeway (I forget exactly what it is, but it's a certain number of pounds above & below the goal weight) will have their names put into a draw to win quilted place mats & coasters I think it was. I so would love to win that quilt, so must get back to work on this. I'd consider getting some refurbished fitness equipment or dusting off the stuff I already have, but doubt I'd actually use it anyway. To tell the truth, I don't even have room in my home to use that kind of thing as they do take up a lot of room. So for now will just walk more & swim more.
This week, being birthdays for Tina & I (her Tuesday, me Friday) everyone sang Happy Birthday to us and we were given cards that everyone signed for us. Then Frances gave me a card she'd made for me.... cross stitch of a parrot put onto a homemade card. Beautiful!! DJ gave me a gift too, a Sudoku book & a small red stuffy heart that says Nice on one side & Naughty on the other side. We all had a good laugh. After our meeting, most of us go out for lunch each Thursday. DJ bought my lunch this week for my b'day. Afterward, I went to the 2nd hand store & bought a briefcase to use for my Toastmaster books and such, then joined Pauline, DJ, & DJ's husband Rolland at Dairy Queen for tea & ice cream. I always very much enjoy spending time with these friends.
While at DQ, I called Telus Mobility because my cell phone has been dying, needs a battery so has to be plugged in every night now. I still have 1 year left on a 3 year contract and know this phone will not last that long. Figured before paying big bucks for a battery I'd see what they would offer me. I am getting a new refurbished phone sent to me and she put on my account that the fee to activate the new phone is to be waived. Not the best phone, not the same as I've got now, but should do to at least get me through this last 11 months or so of the contract. If the phone is still working and I'm happy with it I'll just go month-to-month rather than sign another contract, and if I want/need a new phone I'll sign another contract to get another free phone.
I usually go see Mom on Thursdays after TOPS, but this week she wasn't feeling well so called my cell & we decided I'll go up on Sunday instead.

Life's Mysteries
I think I'm going to have to have a thing that I can talk into while driving, a recorder. When out driving I think of so many things I want to tell you, some really interesting stuff even, then when I'm home I can't think of what to say... sheeesh! There are so many things too, and where to start, haha.
Well, Thom asked if there's a romance brewing with Mark. I'm not sure but there is a very good chance of it. There is also a chance of a romance brewing with Roger. It's always been rather like this, in that 'it never rains but it pours'. No one in my life for ages, then 2 or more guys in my life at the same time. Makes for some great confusion at times.... also for some major excitement.
As I told you before, I met Mark when I was 14 years old &, after many years apart, have recently reconnected through Facebook & been talking a lot on the internet.
I haven't told you anything about Roger yet. Wendy & I go to the Army, Navy, Air Force club often, especially on Wednesday evenings. Wednesday December 30 we were there & that's when & how I met Roger. He ended up joining our table at one point, sat beside me & started to talk & buy drinks for us. There were several people at our table & I'm not sure if he knew some of them, though I assume he did know at least one or two of them. Anyway, we hit it off. Before I left that night, with Wendy, he gave me his phone number & asked me to call the next day, so I did. We talked awhile then I never heard back from him, so Wednesday this week I sent him a text message & he replied, I texted him again & he replied, the third text I sent I got no reply. Tonight he phoned & we talked over an hour. He wants to cook me some deer meat, so we have a date!!! This could be fun.
For years & years I wanted a husband and couldn't even get a date. Now this year... errrrr, last year now, I realized that I am very happy with my life the way it is and don't really see any need to change it, don't particularly want to settle down with any one man after all. Not that I'm totally closed to that idea, just not feeling I need that in my life just now. Now that I've came to that realization, 2 men enter my life.... 2 men that seem very much to fit with my life in several ways.
So... I have office furniture in my living room, a beautiful big computer desk & chair, yet here I lay on my bed with my laptop, wondering what exactly life has to offer... and what weird & wonderful things are in store for me now. Life does have it's twists & turns, and of course it's mysteries.

ADD??
In the last post, I started to tell of my day today... then got distracted. Yes, I get 'off on tangents' rather too often. When Dan comes over to help me do things around here, like moving furniture yesterday, he keeps 'dragging' me back to the job at hand. He says it drives him crazy how I get distracted so easily and off doing a different thing than what I started with, than what I'm supposed to be doing. He catches me getting off on a tangent and says something like "what are you doing?" or "what are you supposed to be doing?" or "where do you think you're going now?" or even "get back to what you started!!"
Today I went to my Aqua Therapy at the Rec Centre, the first one of the new year, the first one since before Christmas, and it was very good to be back at it. Some of the regulars now wave when I arrive & we visit in the water while we work at our exercises. I now have the nick name "Birdie", lol. After the class today one of the ladies & I stood there and talked awhile. It is her birthday tomorrow and mine on Friday, so we are both Capricorns and as we talked there was somewhat of a pattern of things we both do, ways we are alike. She asked me if I have ADD or ADHD & I said "not that I know of"... she does have ADD. I got thinking later about how I get so distracted when trying to accomplish things, about how Dan finds it drives him crazy and keeps having to get me back to what I'm supposed to be working on at that time, and about how Rev. Dale commented one time that I have no problem starting lots of projects though I have a hard time finishing them. Hmmmmm.... maybe I do have ADD. Maybe I don't really have a bad memory, just that thoughts get miss filed in the old memory banks because I get distracted & don't file them where they belong. This could also be why I have so much challenge around doing house work and many other things in my life. Hmmmmm....
After Aqua Therapy, soaking in the hot tub, showering, I went to Superstore to pick up a few groceries. On the way to the check out, I passed the book section and stopped to have a look, to see if they have a couple books I want and they don't. Too bad as I have $100 in gift cards to spend there and refuse to spend my Christmas gift cards on food. (Note to self: Maybe I can buy those off myself... use some of the cash I have 'for groceries' to buy the gift cards, then I can use the gift cards for groceries & the cash for books somewhere else.... or even for something else). While at the books, I turn around & there's Wendy. She had come for some groceries and was seeing if they had those same books I was looking for, 2 we saw when shopping together at WalMart the other day.
After finishing our shopping, Wendy & I went to A&W Restaurant for tea together. I left there shortly after 6pm to come home and find an 'inspiration' to share at Toastmasters this evening, wrote it out, and off I went for the evening. Once again it was a wonderful meeting, even though many people were unable to attend tonight for various different reasons.
To finish off this wonderful day, I had a video chat on MSN with Mark again... we always manage to stimulate each others minds and we always talk much about Spirit & creating wonderful things in our lives. Yes, I had intended to have lights out by 12 midnight... it is now 1:26am. Guess I better put Reba out for a few minutes & check on all the other animals, brush my teeth and get some sleep.
I am grateful!!

Viva La Internet!!!
Ahhhh, today was grand. Having spent much of the night chatting on the internet, then making my bed, it was very nearly 6am when I got to bed, so I slept until around 11am. Knowing that my birds would be waking shortly after I went to sleep, I took the covers off their cages before heading to bed so they at least could start their day at a more 'normal' time. This is a continuation of most nights in the last week or more. You see, shortly before Christmas, I reconnected with a man I first met when I was about 14 years old.
We moved to Ashton Creek where Mark's family was our neighbor just a ways up the road. They had more land than we had at this place, so we kept Spunky & Candy there for awhile (Spunky was my brother Bernie's horse & Candy was mine). I quickly became friends with Noreen and over a period of time had a crush on 3 of her brothers of which Mark is one. I know that all 3 returned the feelings at that time. I loved the times I spent at the home of this family and I remember always feeling welcome in this home.
Now, close to 40 years later, there is still some kind of connection between myself and Mark. It would seem the 'crush' has not died away over the years, though he has moved much farther away from the old town than I have, so while it only takes me about 25 minutes to drive back there and visit my Mom, it takes him 3 hours or more to return and visit his Mom. Yes, both mothers still live in the same town, as do many of his numerous siblings. So, most nights lately, Mark & I talk on Facebook or on MSN, long into the night, comparing our lives, our spiritual beliefs, etc etc. It turns out that we have pretty much identical spiritual beliefs... and matching trucks. Yup, we both drive teal green 1992 Ford Ranger 4x4 pickup trucks.
As much as I enjoy these nightly conversations, tonight I will be going to sleep much earlier. I intend to have the light out by 12:00 or very shortly there after. Tomorrow I must get up 'early' ... well, for me anyway. By 11:30am I will be at the Centre for Spiritual Living where I will 'woman' the bookstore until 4:30pm. I also will do the programs for Sunday's service, make some Newcomers Packages, update the Membership List and whatever presents itself. If time permits I also will read my book & perhaps do some blogging. I so miss visiting my friends blogs and catching up on what is happening around the world.
I am grateful that, though I always thought Facebook was a waste of time, I finally decided to give it a second change.
I am grateful that I have reconnected with Mark.
I am grateful I can be in touch with many different people through Facebook.
I am grateful for MSN.
I am grateful for my computer & the internet.
I am grateful for all of my friends, online & off.

To Everything There Is A Season
To everything there is a season... a time to be depressed, a time to again find the joy & love life has for us..... a time to make new friends, a time to reunite with 'old' friends.... a time to think we are separate, a time to know we are all ONE!!
Too awesome!!
I am grateful the seasons of my life have been passing by.... I would not want to be 25 again or any other of those bygone ages.
I am grateful my time to have a life filled with joy & love has evolved to where it is. I love life!!
I am grateful for the new friends I make.
I am grateful to be re-united with an 'old' friend I've known for something like 40 years
I am grateful to FaceBook for making it possible to hook up with friends... old & new.
I am grateful for the blue skies & sunshine today.
I am grateful for the beauty of the snow on the hills around me while my yard is nearly snow free.
I am grateful for each of my friends that come here & read my blog.
I am grateful for all my 'critters' around me.
I am grateful that, through shifting things in my home, I finally have 'the big cage' in the living room... Angel & Stud Muffin are finally out here too.
I am grateful I have so many things to be grateful for.
I am grateful I don't have time just now to give a full list of things I'm grateful for. ;o)

Daily Inspiration: You cannot kindle a fire in any other heart until it is burning in your own. ~Unknown
Today’s Affirmation: Now and always I live from my clear source connection.
Today's Spiritual Contemplation: Through inner practices; reading contemplation, meditation, spiritual communion we keep the inner fires burning hot. Sometimes I find it especially necessary to go deep, stir up the coals and burn off some deep and lingering feelings of darkness in order to show up for certain ‘difficult’ people. Before bringing peace to another I must start with myself - always.
